A Transformation in Students
Green Education is a holistic programme which gives the students opportunities for rich, hands-on, real world, and authentic learning outside of the traditional curriculum. It allows students to explore environmental issues, engage in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment.
Students learn about everything from seed and plant identification, organic farming, water conservation, preparing compost, indoor plants, green transport, and so much more. They study about global issues such as climate change, water conservation, soil pollution, and learn about how much this planet is affected by the actions of humans.
Gajera Global School has a revolutionary seed-to-table concept,
in which the produce that the students have grown, is used in the school kitchens to make their food. The students’ hard work is incorporated, and it directly engages the students, encouraging them to eat healthier, and it is a supremely eco-friendly concept. Not only is the produce healthy, it is also grown by the students themselves, with the help of the compost the students made, without the use of any fertilizers or pesticides whatsoever.
SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION IN TANDEM WITH UNSDGS
Being concerned with spreading One Happiness, the School believes in sensitizing learners to the issues of melting ice, the heating earth and the burning forest which have captured headlines in recent times.
To equip learners with knowledge and skills to find a solution to the environmental issues facing the earth, we have adopted all the UNSDGs, as our additional guiding principles. Together, we plan to create a development that guarantees a green earth with problem solvers. These goals help us align our vision, mission and philosophy so that learners graduate with a compassion and concern for the environment in which they live in.
